I haven't uploaded anything here for a while.  Now that I've settled into my career as an RN (3 years now!) working at a Hospice agency I've started an on-line degree program for my Master of Science in Nursing degree.  I started playing around with Mandelbulber a few months ago after seeing some excellent videos on youtube (google "mandelbox" for some great ones), and it's more or less replaced Ultrafractal and Apophysis as my fractal renderer of choice (although I still go back to Apophysis once in a while, the newest version is pretty rad).  When I'm on-call or bored with school work I still churn out a fractal now and then.  My local pub

My friend Siobhan posted a lovely interperetation of the Incubation chamber series on my livejournal: I think the order in which you posted them is the "appropriate" color progression. The fractal itself makes me think of traveling down some biological pathway. To me, the order of the colors symbolizes the road to enlightment, from dark to light, ignorance to wisdom. It's similar to Plato's Allegory of the Cave - the prisoner chained to the wall makes a series of realizations that lead him to the full glory of the sun.
